Associate Scientist, Discovery PharmacologyW2 ContractPay Rate: $40 - $46.50 per hourLocation: South San Francisco, CA - Onsite RoleDuties and Responsibilities:Develop novel PK, biomarker, and other assays as needs arise across our scientific programs; assist in the identification, procurement, and testing of reagents needed for the development of novel assays.Characterize novel and existing assays for suitability to address needed scientific questions, including determination of key metrics to define suitability parameters for the assay (upper and lower limits of detection, relevant matrix interference testing, etc.)Collaborate with robotics staff to automate novel assays as needed.Collaborate with scientists across the company to run a variety of drug discovery, development, and biomarker assays.Analyze generated data and deliver written and oral reports to summarize progress and final reports on assay development projects.Develop SOPs to allow assay technology transfer to other groups who may assume responsibility for running assays. Requirements and Qualifications:M.S. / B.S in biological sciences with 1+ / 3+ years of lab experience, including experience with the design, running, and troubleshooting of plate-based biological assays, such as ELISA / immunoassay, biochemical assays, and/or cell immunostainingExperience with the development and characterization of novel plate-based assaysExperience with a wide variety of automated instruments, including liquid handlers, plate washers, plate readers, etc., is desirable.Experience with surface plasmon resonance (SPR) / Biacore instrumentation for molecular affinity measurements is desirable.Excellent prioritization skills, with the ability to independently manage several tasks simultaneously and to respond to high-priority requests rapidlyAbility to analyze data and deliver high-quality written and oral reportsPrecision and attention to detail in experiment execution and report generation Desired Skills and ExperienceDiscovery Pharmacology, Drug Discovery, Plate-Based Assay Development, Assay Characterization and Troubleshooting, PK Assays, Biomarker Assays, ELISA, Immunoassays, Biochemical Assays, Cell Immunostaining, Reagent Testing, Limit-of-Detection Analysis, Matrix Interference Testing, Laboratory Automation, Liquid Handlers, Plate Washers, Plate Readers, Surface Plasmon Resonance, Biacore, Molecular Affinity Measurements, Data Analysis, SOP Development, Assay Technology Transfer, Scientific Reporting, Cross-Functional Collaboration, Task Prioritization, Experimental Precision Bayside Solutions, Inc. is not able to sponsor any candidates at this time.
