Associate Scientist

About the role

The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of professional experience with the following: - Capable of creating and preparing culture media in a GLP/GMP environment - Trained in working with bacterial cultures - Skilled in the use of aseptic technique - Capable of evaluating test results and drawing conclusions - Efficient use of scales, balances and pH meters - Ability to work with minimal supervision

Qualifications

- B.S. in Microbiology or a related Life Science is preferred but not required. - The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years in a professional biotech environment, although education and academic experience may be substituted.

Responsibilities

- Produces lab scale pilots of prepared and dehydrated media - Sterilizes biohazard wastes - Accurately and consistently prepares plated and tubed media pilots as well as stocked media for testing by laboratory personnel - Involves the precise weighing of individual ingredients, physical preparation of materials as well as in-process checks (pH, autoclaving and dispensing into final form.)
