About the role
The Research Associate I position is available within the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, focusing on a new NIH-funded study examining the role of ghrelin in stress-induced changes in decision-making. This entry or mid-level researcher will work under Dr. Ki Goosens and other lab members in the Institute for Translational Medicine and Pharmacology.
Responsibilities
- Conducts research in mouse models of stress including, but not limited to: collection of blood and other samples, small animal surgery, behavioral testing of rodents, processing samples for ELISA or immunostaining
- Collecting, analyzing and interpreting data; presenting data
- Maintaining source documents, samples, and subject files in accordance with Mount Sinai policies and procedures
- Ensuring accurate, confidential and complete compilation of data
- May secure and ship specimens if required by the protocol
- Performing other related duties including supporting efforts in grant preparation and journal article publication
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in science or related field required
- No experience required
- One year of research experience preferred
