Associate Researcher (Dr. Rudebeck's Lab) - Neurosciences

About the role

An entry-level laboratory research position responsible for conducting routine and standardized experiments using techniques specific to the assigned research project under the supervision of the Principal Investigator or a senior researcher. This individual assists in the interpretation of research outcomes and may be responsible for lab and clerical support.

Responsibilities

• Conduct behavioral training and testing of non-human primates.
• Collect functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) and neurophysiology data from non-human primates in collaboration with laboratory team members.
• Analyze behavioral, neurophysiology, and fMRI data using appropriate research methods and software.
• Collaborate with students, postdoctoral fellows, and faculty to interpret findings, prepare manuscripts, and publish scientific research.
• Maintain accurate research records and ensure compliance with laboratory protocols and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate laboratory administrative activities, including ordering research supplies and maintaining inventory.
• Perform laboratory safety responsibilities and assist with ensuring compliance with institutional safety policies and procedures.
• Serve as the primary liaison between the laboratory and veterinary technicians to coordinate animal care and research activities.
• Support additional laboratory operations and research-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in science or related field preferred, or combination of relevant research experience and education.
• 0-2 years of research/laboratory experience.

Pay

The salary range for this role is $17 - $34.12 per hour, depending on experience, education, and operational need.
