About the role

The Analyst will be required to lead development of clean energy policy for the State, manage existing programs, with a focus on optimizing clean energy program structure to deliver value to all ratepayers. In addition, the position will support PURA in the process of utility rate cases, specifically on customer service issues.

Responsibilities

  • Developing interrogatories and written comment prompts directed at the utilities and other intervenors;
  • Processing and summarizing the responses to those prompts;
  • Tracking and managing incoming motion rulings;
  • Building and writing decisions based on the public record;
  • Presenting recommendations to the Commissioners.

Requirements

  • Comfortable with public speaking and required to lead technical meetings, issue summarized recommendations to the Commissioners, and provide cross-examinations in the hearing room, all of which may be streamed online.

Qualifications

  • Seven (7) years of professional experience in research, data analysis or economics;
  • One (1) year of the General Experience must have been conducting research at the level of a Research Analyst;
  • Considerable knowledge of research methods and techniques, principles, concepts and methods of statistical analysis, agency related policies and procedures as related to research, oral and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, ability to analyze data, ability to develop programs and use prepackaged computer programs to perform data analysis.

Skills

  • Experience in utility regulation or energy policy;
  • Experience working on utility grid modernization initiatives, deployment of clean and renewable energy programs, energy storage, or climate change policy;
  • Experience writing technical reports, white papers, position papers, policy papers, or academic articles for a general audience that provide conclusions or recommendations supported by documented evidence;
  • Experience leading public discussions on clean energy policy;
  • Experience conducting quantitative analysis and synthesizing results;
  • Experience with project management, working on more than two (2) projects simultaneously, while adhering to deadlines;
  • Experience using Microsoft Office 365 applications.

$94,882 - $122,027/year
