Associate, Quantitative Developer
About the role
As a member of the Quantitative Investment Science team, you will build both the user-facing applications of our cloud-based investment analytics platform and the foundations beneath them—APIs, backend services, data integrations, and cloud infrastructure. The role spans designing intuitive, data-rich workflows and reusable UI components as well as the services and pipelines that power them.
This engineer will translate business requirements into reliable, performant, and maintainable solutions, select the appropriate tools and technologies, and use prototypes to evaluate new approaches. You will flourish in an evolving, fast-paced environment and bring a work style marked by technical curiosity, thoughtful problem solving, continuous learning, and collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain user-facing applications and the backend services and APIs that support them
- Develop reusable UI components and shared platform capabilities used across applications
- Support gradual rollouts and feature flags to ship changes safely as the platform evolves
- Build and improve data pipelines and integrations across the platform, and contribute to logical and physical data models
- Work directly with product and design to understand problems, shape requirements, and turn them into clear technical designs
- Partner with product to review, triage, and resolve issues and defects
- Manage delivery expectations and drive projects through completion
- Contribute to a strong engineering culture through code review, knowledge sharing, and documentation that lets teams build with confidence
- Improve developer tooling, CI/CD, automated testing, and observability (logging, metrics, and telemetry) that keep applications and services reliable
Requirements
- Strong analytical skills and curiosity about how systems work end to end
- Experience building modern web applications and reusable UI components using React and TypeScript
- Strong SQL skills, including complex queries and data access patterns
- Python experience building enterprise-level, production-quality software
- Excellent collaboration skills—you'll work closely with product and development to shape requirements and deliver solutions
- Attention to detail and systematic thinking
- A love for turning requirements into well-defined, durable systems
- Familiarity with data modeling, data management, and data warehouse concepts
- Experience developing applications on Azure or comparable cloud environments using Git, CI/CD, and other DevOps practices
- Experience with messaging technologies such as Kafka, Azure Event Grid, or equivalent is a plus
- Interest in finance and building efficient products that users love
Qualifications
- 3+ years of professional software development experience building data-rich platforms or products
- 3+ years of SQL using complex queries against large datasets
- 3+ years of Python and/or TypeScript experience
- Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) or Bachelor of Science (B.S.) or equivalent experience

Pay
Base Salary Range: $160,000.00 - $165,000.00 (USD). This range represents only one component of total compensation for this role and is provided in accordance with local requirements. Total compensation may also include eligibility for a discretionary annual bonus and long-term reward programs.
