About the role

Electronic Arts creates next-level entertainment experiences that inspire players and fans around the world. The Quality Verification and Standards (QVS) team is an integral part of our development process, delivering actionable insights that help game teams optimize software performance and elevate gameplay. As an Associate Quality Designer (AQD) for the College Football title, you will be deeply embedded in development, testing, documenting, and analyzing the game during production. This versatile role focuses on ensuring game features are tested correctly to meet player expectations, providing oversight of quality processes, and establishing best practices for the QV team.

You will need an in-depth understanding of the technical structure of games, testing methodologies, and tools to drive effective quality assurance. A passion for and detailed knowledge of American Football is essential.

Location: Orlando (Hybrid)

Responsibilities

  • Build working relationships with development, production, and design teams to promote a higher quality player experience through feature planning, data analysis, and design reviews.
  • Propose and implement solutions to problems identified by senior leadership.
  • Conduct end-to-end reviews of quality strategy, test plans, and test cases.
  • Support identification of technical solutions and automation opportunities.
  • Leverage testing tools and AI capabilities to inform testing strategies, optimize test coverage, and streamline quality workflows.
  • Understand current processes and workflows—drive improvements and knowledge sharing across the sports QV teams.
  • Report progress and status through verbal or written communication with managers and team members.
  • Consider the game from a player’s perspective to identify ways to improve the player experience.
  • Champion a Player First approach, advocating for the quality our players receive.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent QA experience) with an understanding of Agile/Scrum and software development lifecycles.
  • Hands-on experience with defect tracking software (preferably Jira), QA planning tools, and gaming console platforms.
  • Skilled in writing comprehensive test plans and cases using black, gray, and white box testing practices.
  • Deep knowledge of American/College Football and familiarity with the College Football video game series.
  • Excellent written and verbal English skills to clearly report testing progress and status.

Desired Qualifications

  • Proven experience using collaboration tools like Confluence, Slack, or Miro to work effectively with off-site teams.
  • Passion for innovative testing through automation, data-driven methods, AI tools, and prompt writing for game QA.
  • Familiarity with game authenticity, audio/sound QA implementation, and UI/UX testing principles.
