Associate, Project Manager Milestones
About the role
The LA28 organizing committee is hosting the Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games in Los Angeles, California in 2028. This event will be the first time LA hosts the Paralympic Games, offering an opportunity to enhance awareness and inclusion of people with disabilities.
Responsibilities
- Independently manage projects from beginning to end, ensuring all project requirements are met and timelines stay on track
- Lead project intake sessions and guide conversations to capture and consolidate details, requirements, and timing for entry into the project tracker
- Build workback schedules and project plans reflecting the development processes for the different creative verticals, being mindful of the requirements for each discipline
- Exercise knowledge of project tiering, resource availability, and team capabilities to ensure project requests are submitted with proper lead times and are within the scope of the team
- Use project management tools to track statuses, record and report important updates, and monitor project health
- Proactively assess projects for risks and flag issues and potential solutions before they become delays
- Guide review processes with stakeholders, clearly communicating the focus of the reviews and what feedback is needed, and ensuring consolidated notes are received and distributed on schedule
Qualifications
- Minimum 3+ years of hands-on experience in project management in either an in-house or agency setting
- Thorough understanding of creative processes from concept to execution
- Strong planning and organizational skills with an ability to manage multiple projects in various stages of completion simultaneously, balancing shifting levels of priority
- Skilled in stakeholder management across cross-functional partners, setting timelines, identifying dependencies, and driving work forward to meet deadlines
- Proactive problem solver with an eye for risk assessment and a bias toward action
- Proficient in Smartsheet or similar project management tools (Asana, Wrike, Workfront)
- Working knowledge of creative tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud and Figma
- Comfortable in a Microsoft environment including Word, Excel, and Outlook
Background & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience

Physical Requirements And Working Conditions
- Ability to work on-site in an open office environment, based in Los Angeles, CA
- The majority of the work will be conducted in an office setting, requiring extended periods of time using computers, phones, and other office equipment
- Hours of work may vary, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, especially during peak event periods

Pay Range
The annual base salary range for this position is $69,000.00 - $75,000.00. The pay scale provided is the range that LA28 reasonably expects to pay as starting base compensation for this role. All LA28 compensation remains subject to final determination based on individual candidate qualifications, experience, or other reasonable criteria consistent with LA28’s operational business needs and applicable law.
