Associate Project Manager

About the role

TRC is seeking an Associate Project Manager to support our team in facilitating successful completion of energy efficiency projects through multiple stages, including scope of work design, project review, construction monitoring, close-out verification, and payment.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate successful completion of energy efficiency projects from beginning to end, including scope of work design, project review, construction monitoring, close-out verification, and payment.
• Distribute large-scale payments (e.g., $100,000+) for multifamily property owners and contractors.
• Maintain strong proficiency in program requirements such as eligible measures, program changes, incentive reservation status, and other customer-relevant information.
• Provide professional customer support on program requirements, technical assistance, problem-solving, and prompt project status updates.
• Help contractors and customers overcome barriers affecting project completion.
• Lead and facilitate meetings, including regular check-ins with contractors.
• Coordinate with other energy advisors to provide project updates from contractors.
• Collect, analyze, and maintain project data with a high level of accuracy.
• Maintain project data within a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database.
• Draft and deliver professional reports to program management and customers.
• Establish and maintain high standards of work, communication, and deliverables.
• Coordinate regularly with program team members, including engineering, outreach, operations, and management staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related field and a minimum of five years of relevant experience in California’s energy or sustainability sectors, business operations, consulting, construction oversight, or a related field.
• Demonstrated ability to meet client/project goals, manage multiple tasks, and ensure timely and effective project delivery.
• Technical knowledge of or aptitude to learn industry concepts including lighting, mechanical, utility systems, building envelope, and energy distribution.
• Familiarity with project design and construction processes; experience with cost estimating, purchasing, and closeout is a plus.
• Strong computer proficiency, including MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) and ability to conduct independent computer-based research.
• Experience using a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system or similar to track pipeline/energy audits/project activities.
• Previous experience with any of the following is highly desirable: California utility program implementation, building performance principles, energy efficiency, Title 24, benchmarking, energy or field audits, multifamily properties, low-income populations, or construction management.
• Eligible to work in the United States.
• Valid driver's license in the State of California (must be obtained prior to employment).
• Ability to travel to local office(s) and within California.

Pay

Salary Range: USD $66,560.00 – USD $83,200.00 per year.

Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company’s annual Discretionary Bonus Program, contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators.
