Associate Project Manager

About the role

Under general direction, assists in managing a large portfolio of electric utility projects to ensure all phases of approved projects are completed efficiently and within scope, on schedule, and within budget. Works closely with personnel to engineer, design, site, permit and construct assigned projects. Assists project managers with securing approval for permits and licenses, budgets materials, contractors, and other resources.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of assigned projects, ensuring compliance with company policies, regulations, and laws.
• Assist with department progress reporting, management of schedule, budget, outage coordination, and contract administration.
• Manage the development and evaluation process for bid documents related to engineering, design, and construction.
• Coordinate procurement of materials and equipment for project execution.
• Ensure thorough documentation and completion of all project phases.
• Independently manage smaller projects, demonstrating proficiency in the full Project Lifecycle and project controls requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (preferred); Business, related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Two (2) to Five (5) years of experience in electric utility construction or project management experience.
• Knowledge in the theoretical and practical application of project management techniques and tools including project management software.
• Knowledge of design and construction of electric transmission, distribution, and/or substations.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Experience composing executive-level communications.
