About the role

This role supports all phases of electrical construction projects, working under the guidance of a senior-level Project Manager. It involves hands-on field experience and progressive responsibility in scheduling, estimating, procurement, and customer relations.

Responsibilities

  • Help establish what is to be done on a week-to-week basis, when, and by whom
  • Analyze and forecast factors that affect results to maximize efficiency
  • Develop appropriate programs, strategies, and supervision
  • Learn the scheduling process; take responsibility for it on assigned projects
  • Be trained to use estimating information to manage labor and material costs effectively
  • Share manpower, resources, and tools across branches as needed
  • Assist and work with Project Managers to manage resources, tooling, and permits as needed
  • Will learn the procurement process and be responsible for ordering materials on assigned projects
  • Gain understanding of the collection and billing process; take responsibility for it on assigned projects
  • Manage billings
  • Understand and assist in bidding jobs (including estimates, proposal specifications, drawings, and takeoff information)
  • Manage projects to deliver on customer requirements of scope, timeline, and budget
  • Assume responsibility for productivity of crafts, efficient use of materials & equipment, and contractual performance of the project
  • Work with Project Managers to learn how develop and maintain relationships with customers; ensure high quality service is provided to guarantee sales
  • Take prompt action to resolve any customer complaints
  • Always be growing and improving both yourself and your entire team
  • Safety/Hazard Recognition & Elimination
  • Pre-plan and identify the methods to eliminate hazards daily by work task
  • Execute skill in observing habits and hazards of others and bringing it to their attention
  • Uphold safety as the most important goal of our company
  • Support goal of achieving zero accidents
  • Promote and encourage open communication between field and office regarding all safety concerns, suggestions, improvements, and PPE needed
  • Obtain safety training as expected by all company personnel

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management/Sciences, Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Building Science, etc.), or related
  • Prior experience in contracting, engineering, construction management, or a related field preferred
  • Knowledge and experience with the electrical trade
  • Physical Requirements: Office and site environments requiring sitting and standing. Travel to various work sites is essential, exposing employees to outdoor elements, noise, and the need to stand and walk
