Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE) degree
  • Arizona Registration as a Professional Engineer (or ability to become licensed in Arizona within six months of employment)
  • Minimum of six years of land development experience or equivalent of ten to twelve years of total work experience
  • Independent thought and decision-making abilities
  • Adept at establishing and maintaining strong, positive working relationships with clients, public agency personnel, and in-house peers
  • Knowledge of jurisdictional codes, standards, and procedures in Arizona and the region (strongly preferred)
  • Ability to accept and respond appropriately to constructive feedback
  • Seasoned time management skills

Responsibilities

  • Supervision of engineering design and support staff, including task delegation, technical mentorship, training, and quality control
  • Management of project schedules and budgets
  • Assistance with preparation of contracts, fee proposals, and scopes of work
  • Significant experience in client and public-agency interactions
  • Preliminary engineering design studies (land use, zoning, site constraints, regulatory issues)
  • Preparation/processing of tentative tract maps, final subdivision map processes, public improvement plans, and site development plans for commercial and residential developments
  • Perform constructability reviews of final engineering drawings and specifications
  • Experience with construction support services
  • Preparation and review of civil-related technical reports for grading, utility design, stormwater management, and drainage

Skills

  • AutoCAD/Civil 3D (required)
  • Extensive experience and demonstrated engineering abilities in all aspects of land development projects
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to negotiate effectively and maintain high respect and confidence from co-workers and public agencies
