Associate Project Engineer

About the role

In this role, you will support engineering activities across various project sizes and complexities under the supervision of senior engineers. You will complete tasks cost-effectively while adhering to contract specifications, quality standards, safety requirements, and cybersecurity policies. Your responsibilities will include collecting data and supporting the production of engineering designs for the Switchboard product line of Smart Power in Mebane, North Carolina.

Responsibilities

• Exercise judgment on limited details of work and apply standard methods to prepare project documentation within your scope of deliverables.
• Assist customers on technical issues and interact with official contacts, contractors, and other staff within your scope of deliverables.
• Support communication for specific assignments or meetings.
• Participate in workshops related to engineering design, tools, and processes.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree or Bachelor's degree (STEM field preferred).
• Skilled in quality and production processes; familiarity with NEMA equipment and Switchboard products is preferred.
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; SAP experience is a plus.
• Strong interpersonal and team-oriented mindset with excellent English communication skills; Spanish language ability is a plus.
• Must already have work authorization to work for ABB in the U.S.
