Associate Professorship (or Professorship) in Applied Mathematics with Official Studentship (Tutorial Fellowship)

About the role

The successful candidate will be appointed as an Associate Professor (or Professor) in Applied Mathematics, joining a thriving research community at the Mathematical Institute in Oxford. They will contribute to building collaborations globally and engage in outreach activities to enhance diversity within the department.

Responsibilities

• Carry out, disseminate, obtain funding for, and supervise high-quality research in applied mathematics.
• Teach a variety of mathematics courses through lectures, classes, and tutorials.

Requirements

The position requires a PhD in Applied Mathematics or a related field, along with a strong track record of research excellence and teaching effectiveness. Experience in interdisciplinary collaboration and engagement in outreach programs are desirable.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to conduct independent research, secure external funding, and mentor students. They should also demonstrate effective communication skills and a commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Skills

Benefits

The position offers a combined University and College salary ranging from £57,986 to £77,366 per annum, plus additional benefits including an Oxford Living Subsidy of £21,567 per annum. There is also an allowance of £3,199 p.a. payable upon award of Full Professor title, contingent on a successful review.

The appointment is permanent upon completion of a successful review, which occurs during the first 5 years.
