About the role

The Department of Engineering Science at the University of Oxford is seeking to appoint an expert in wearable devices and/or computer vision to the first of four tenure-track positions underpinning the newly established Institute of Youth Sports Medicine and Technology. This appointment is open at either associate professor or full professor level.

This position offers:

  • Guaranteed research funding and studentships for 10 years
  • Very minimal teaching commitments
  • The opportunity to serve as Director of the Institute every 4 years

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

  • Contribute to the development and implementation of cutting-edge technologies in youth sports medicine
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to advance research in wearable devices and computer vision
  • Engage in teaching and mentoring activities as part of the academic community at Oxford

Requirements

The ideal candidate should have:

  • A strong background in biomedical engineering, computer science, or a related field
  • Experience in wearable device design and computer vision applications
  • An established track record of research in relevant areas
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
