Associate Professor Term (Open Rank)
About the role
The School of Accountancy in the College of Business at the University of Louisville seeks qualified applicants for a full-time, non-tenure track faculty position. The anticipated start date is August 1, 2026; however, the start date is negotiable within the Fall 2026 semester based on the successful candidate’s availability and departmental needs. Appointment will be at the rank of Instructor, Assistant Professor Term, or Associate Professor Term, dependent upon academic Credentials, Qualifications, And Experience. The expected teaching load is 24 credit hours per academic year. Salary is negotiable within the established salary band and will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Responsibilities
- Teach face-to-face undergraduate and graduate accounting courses.
- Engage in service activities that support the mission of the SOA, the College of Business, and the University.
- Curriculum development.
- AACSB Assurance of Learning and accreditation activities.
- Committee service.
- Serve as lead instructor for designated coordinated courses.
- Develop and maintain course materials.
- Cookpilot common course shells and instructional resources across multiple sections.
- Prepare common examinations.
Qualifications
- For appointment at the Assistant Professor Term or Associate Professor Term rank:
- A doctoral degree in accounting or related discipline with an undergraduate or graduate accounting degree, from an AACSB-accredited institution with a substantive in-residence doctoral component.
- A Juris Doctorate (JD) and/or an LL.M. in Taxation (to teach taxation courses).
- Candidates who are ABD and expect to complete their degree before the appointment start date are encouraged to apply.
- Demonstrated experience serving in a lead instructor or course coordinator role is preferred.
- For appointment at the Instructor rank:
- A bachelor's degree in Accounting (or an accounting concentration or the equivalent).
- A professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA, CIA, CISA, or CFE).
- At least five years of progressively responsible professional accounting experience.
