The School of Law at the University of Missouri-Kansas City is seeking a tenure-eligible faculty member specializing in Child and Family Law.

About the role

The successful candidate will join a dynamic legal community and contribute to the School of Law's mission of providing high-quality legal education and research.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct scholarly research in family law
  • Teach courses in family law
  • Advocate for and engage with the community on issues related to child and family law
  • Participate in professional development activities and service to the legal community

Requirements

  • A J.D. or equivalent degree is required
  • Documented scholastic success in the field of Family Law

Qualifications

  • Experience in externally funded research
  • Ability to teach effectively at the university level
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion

Skills

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and students

Pay

Rank and salary are commensurate with qualifications, experience, and evidence of success in externally funded research.

Schedule

This is a 9-month, benefit-eligible, full-time (1.0) faculty appointment eligible for tenure promotion.
