Associate Professor of Transplant & Hepatobiliary Surgery

About the role

The Department of Surgery at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School is recruiting an Experienced Abdominal Transplant Surgeon for a faculty position.

Responsibilities

• Perform independent liver transplant procedures.
• Lead organ procurement, including donation after circulatory death (DCD).
• Engage in normothermic regional perfusion and machine perfusion techniques (desirable).
• Conduct clinical and translational research (desirable).
• Participate in renal and pancreas transplant programs through affiliated RWJ Barnabas Health System (secondary opportunities).

Requirements

• Independent experience in liver transplant.
• Mastery in organ procurement, including donation after circulatory death.

Qualifications

• Eligibility for academic rank and leadership opportunities commensurate with experience and accomplishments.

Skills

• Experience with normothermic regional perfusion.
• Experience with machine perfusion.
• Clinical and translational research interests and experience.
