About the role

The University of Illinois College of Medicine Peoria (UICOMP) seeks candidates for the position(s) of Associate/Professor-Child Development (Developmental Behavior Section Chief) in the Department of Pediatrics. This position will work with developmental behavioral pediatricians and neurodevelopmental pediatricians, nurse practitioners, psychologists, nurses, social workers, dietitians and other staff to provide interdisciplinary, family centered care for patients and families throughout the region.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in undergraduate, graduate, and continuing education programs of the Department.
  • Provide outpatient diagnostic and management services for patients in the region with general developmental delay, intellectual disabilities, and autism spectrum disorder, cerebral palsy and genetic disorders.
  • Organize and conduct research programs in developmental behavior pediatrics and neurodevelopmental disabilities.
  • Perform other duties of a university faculty member including committee assignments, curriculum development, student counseling, and administration.
  • Help lead quality improvement projects for the section.
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • MD/DO or Foreign Equivalent Eligible for Licensure in Illinois
  • Board Certified/Board Eligible in Pediatrics
  • 3 Years Residency in Pediatrics
  • 3-5 Years Experience in Clinical Pediatrics
  • Leadership Experience in Pediatrics

Qualifications

  • Leadership in teaching residents and medical students
  • 3-5 years’ experience working with infants and children who have or are at risk of having neurodevelopmental disability.
  • Experience in diagnosing and managing autism spectrum disorder in young children.
  • Experience in evaluation and management of infants and children with cerebral palsy.
  • Fellowship trained in Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics or Neurodevelopmental Disabilities

Pay

The budgeted salary range for the position is $232,700 to $310,000 per year. Salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience, while also considering internal equity.
