About the role
The Division of Endocrinology and Diabetes in the Department of Pediatrics at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Associate Professor position in the non-tenure clinician educator track.
Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) and the division comprise more than 30 faculty with diverse clinical and investigative interests, supporting nearly 30,000 outpatient visits yearly. The Pediatric Thyroid Center, established in 2013, is fully staffed with dedicated administrative, nursing (RN and NP), and both clinical and translational research programs.
Responsibilities
- High-quality teaching of CHOP fellows, residents, and medical students from the Perelman School of Medicine.
- Providing outpatient and inpatient consultative services in pediatric endocrinology.
- Outpatient clinical obligations in:
- General thyroid clinic
- Multidisciplinary PTEN Hamartoma Tumor Syndrome Clinic
- Advanced Thyroid Cancer Therapeutics Clinic
- General endocrinology clinic
- Proficiency in performance and interpretation of point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) using Thyroid Center equipment.
- Participation in a monthly multidisciplinary tumor board with collaborators from cytology (Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania), pathology, radiology, and surgery.
- Clinical and/or translational research in thyroid disease, including congenital or acquired thyroid disease, thyroid nodules, thyroid cancer, and thyroid cancer predisposition syndromes.
Requirements
- M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree.
- Board certification in Pediatric Endocrinology.
- Subspecialization in pediatric thyroidology.

- Clinic locations: CHOP Main (University Place, Philadelphia), Voorhees NJ Subspecialty Center, and Chalfont PA Subspecialty Center.
