Job Summary

The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the Division of Endocrinology and Diabetes in the Department of Pediatrics at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure clinician educator track.

About the Role

This position involves teaching CHOP fellows and residents as well as medical students from the Perelman School of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania, and providing outpatient and inpatient consultative services. Clinical responsibilities include general thyroid clinic, a multidisciplinary PTEN Hamartoma Tumor Syndrome Clinic, an Advanced Thyroid Cancer Therapeutics Clinic, and general endocrinology clinic. Research responsibilities may include clinical and/or translational research in thyroid disease.

Responsibilities

• Teach CHOP fellows and residents as well as medical students from the Perelman School of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania.
• Provide outpatient and inpatient consultative services.
• Lead a multidisciplinary tumor board monthly with collaborators from cytology (Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania), pathology, radiology, and surgery.
• Perform and interpret point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) in the outpatient clinic setting.
• Conduct clinical and translational research in thyroid disease, including congenital or acquired thyroid disease, thyroid nodules, thyroid cancer, and thyroid cancer predisposition syndromes.

Requirements

• M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree.
• Board certification in Pediatric Endocrinology with a desire to subspecialize in pediatric thyroidology.

Qualifications

• Experience in thyroid disease, including congenital or acquired thyroid disease, thyroid nodules, thyroid cancer, and thyroid cancer predisposition syndromes.
• Ability to lead a multidisciplinary tumor board monthly with collaborators from cytology (Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania), pathology, radiology, and surgery.
• Experience performing and interpreting point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS).
• Strong interest in clinical and translational research in thyroid disease.
