About the role

The purpose of this role is to prioritise the development and improvements of the Trust’s System/Product. You will be responsible for realising the maximum value of the asset by formulating strategies, product roadmaps, managing the development backlog, and defining the shared future vision and goals. The role ensures the needs of end users and the Trust are met while aligning the product with business goals, mission, and objectives. You will work collaboratively across the Trust with colleagues, internal partners, other NHS organisations, and suppliers to fulfil these requirements. Additionally, you will ensure project teams understand the vision and work toward achieving it, helping members focus on common objectives regardless of their role, and regularly sharing progress with all stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Formulate and implement product strategies and roadmaps.
• Manage the development backlog and define the shared future vision and goals for the product.
• Ensure the product aligns with business goals, mission, and objectives while meeting the needs of end users and the Trust.
• Collaborate with colleagues, internal partners, NHS organisations, and suppliers to fulfil requirements.
• Ensure project teams understand the vision and work toward common objectives.
• Regularly share progress with stakeholders.
• Contribute to the development and tactical implementation of IM&T strategy.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of Trust policies and procedures governing IT project delivery.

Requirements

• Product Owner qualification or equivalent experience.
• Extensive experience in the IT industry.
• Thorough appreciation of the opportunities new technology creates.
• Extensive knowledge of NHS IT and modernisation initiatives.
• Evidence of continued professional development.
• Experience in preparing organisational strategies and objectives.
• Experience with business process mapping.
• Experience managing projects spanning multiple organisations.
• Good standard of written and spoken English.
