About the role
The Associate Product Manager supports physical product development, SKU management, and lifecycle optimization within Wilsonart's High-Pressure Laminate (HPL) manufacturing product line. This role partners closely with Operations, Supply Chain, and Sales to drive profitability, manage product changes, and support new product introductions.
Responsibilities
- Aid in managing new product introductions to meet stated timelines
- Identify opportunities for price realization, mix improvement, and cost recovery
- Collaborate with Supply Chain and Operations to analyze product cost structures and variances
- Partner with Product, Operations, and Sales to manage the non-promoted HPL portfolio, including product exceptions, special customer requests, and end of life
- Evaluate the impact of materials and production changes on profitability
- Identify root causes and quantify financial impact of quality issues, such as defects and claims
- Collaborate with Product, Marketing, and Technical Services to manage HPL product and technical information in print and on the web
Requirements
- Excellent organizational and project management skills
- Strong computer proficiency, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe
- Ability to perform competitive analysis and marketing research
- Knowledge of marketing methodologies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to work with all levels within the company and with customers
- Compelling public speaking skills
- Ability to develop collaborative relations across departments and levels of the organization
- Experience leading and executing the new product introduction process
Preferred Experience
- Experience with physical or manufactured products (e.g., building materials, industrial products, consumer goods)
- Exposure to manufacturing, supply chain, or operations environments
- Experience working with product SKUs, cost structures, or materials
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field
- Equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted in place of degree
