Associate Producer

Responsibilities

• Aid in various production tasks across broadcast and digital platforms.
• Stack, write, and edit content for multiple newscasts during a shift.
• Collaborate with reporters on scripts, packages, and live shots.
• Contribute to editorial decisions, including graphics and visual elements, especially during breaking news.
• Research stories using the internet, video archives, and newsroom resources.
• Showcase big stories in a clear, compelling, and visually engaging way.
• Edit video and assist in producing new or expanded newscasts.
• Post stories and segments to digital platforms as assigned.
• Fill-in as a Producer when needed.

Requirements

• Minimum of three (3) years of newsroom experience in a television news environment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, TV/Film, or equivalent experience.
• Strong writing skills with excellent grammar, attention to detail, and sound news judgment.
• Ability to work under deadline pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Strong understanding of visual, written, and verbal storytelling.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with producers, reporters, anchors, photographers, digital, production, and engineering teams.
• Strong sense of journalistic integrity and understanding of audience needs and expectations.
• Knowledge of brand-building directives and newsroom standards.
• A team-first mindset with a willingness to learn, adapt, and support the newsroom.
• Flexibility to work weekends and varied shifts as newsroom demands require.

Pay

SALARY RANGE: $60K - $70K Annualized - commensurate with applicant's experience and skill level
