Associate Process Engineer
Job Description
An Associate Process Engineer is an individual contributor responsible for applying knowledge of engineering, mathematics, science, and computer sciences to identify, analyze, and solve complex wafer fabrication issues. Complex wafer fabrication issues include, but are not limited to, qualifying new tools & processes, improving product yield, maintaining product quality, supporting daily wafer manufacturing, reducing manufacturing costs, improving manufacturing productivity, developing new processes, and working with other individuals & groups, including suppliers, customers, and production.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the design, development, and optimization of semiconductor manufacturing processes, such as photolithography, etching, deposition, and ion implantation.
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in semiconductor process technologies and integrate them into your work.
- Collaborate with equipment vendors and internal teams to select, install, and optimize semiconductor manufacturing equipment.
- Ensure equipment is calibrated and maintained to meet high precision and performance standards.
- Analyze manufacturing data to identify areas for yield improvement and defect reduction.
- Develop and implement process enhancements to enhance semiconductor quality and efficiency.
- Work on advanced materials and integration processes, such as compound semiconductors or new materials for next-generation technology nodes.
- Collaborate with materials scientists and researchers to develop cutting-edge solutions.
- Ensure projects are executed on time and within budget.
- Ensure compliance with semiconductor industry standards, quality requirements, and safety regulations.
- Monitor changes in industry regulations and adjust processes accordingly.
- Collect and analyze data to evaluate process performance and identify areas for improvement.
Qualifications
- BS Degree in Chemical, Electrical, Material Engineering, or Physics or the equivalent in education.
- 0-2 years of work experience in Semiconductor Process Engineering
- Strong communications skills with various audiences from vendors to fellow engineers to operators.
- Familiarity with industry-specific standards, including ISO, SEMI, and ESD.
- Proficiency in semiconductor process simulation software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and project management skills.
- Strong computer skills in Microsoft applications—Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Travel (including internationally) as needed.

Additional Information
- This role will work on site in Roseville, CA.
- This position works Monday- Friday, overtime and on call when necessary.
