Associate Private Banker
About the Role
Morgan Stanley (“MS”) is a global financial services firm conducting business through three principal segments: Institutional Securities, Wealth Management, and Asset Management. The Wealth Management division provides comprehensive financial advice and services, including brokerage, investment advisory, financial and wealth planning, credit & lending, deposits & cash management, annuities, insurance, retirement, and trust services.
We are seeking a high-potential Associate Private Banker (“APB”) to join our Sales Team in the Private Banking Group. The Associate Private Banker will provide product and service support for Private Bankers in the region as well as the Region Manager.
Responsibilities
- Partner with Private Banker(s) and Advisors to assess opportunities and provide suitable cash management and lending solutions for their clients.
- Provide Financial Advisors (FAs) and their clients with Private Banking products, solutions, distribution, and service support in collaboration with Private Banker(s).
- Establish a reputation for execution and excellence, gaining the confidence of FAs and Private Bankers to fully develop cash management and lending opportunities.
- Assist in developing and implementing marketing campaigns.
- Support the development and maintenance of adequate marketing pipelines to meet revenue targets.
- Communicate new product and policy enhancements to FAs and branch staff.
- Work and communicate effectively with Financial Advisors, Branch Managers & staff, Private Bankers, and Product partners.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience with an investment, commercial, or private bank.
- 2 years of client service, business development, and/or Sales Desk experience.
- Experience in understanding the financial needs of all types of clients.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, or relevant work experience.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of cash management and lending products, including bank deposits, certificates of deposit, credit cards, residential mortgage products, home equity lines of credit, securities-based loans, high-net-worth tailored lending products, and commercial credit products.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent relationship-building, business development, and service skills, with a drive to achieve top-quartile results.
- Ability to understand the financial needs of retail brokerage clientele.
- Maintain poise, presence, and professionalism with FAs and their affluent clients in challenging circumstances.
- Software proficiency (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Demonstrated positive initiative, leadership, and comfort working in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal collaboration and team skills, including working with cross-functional teams.

Pay
Salary range for the position: $85,000 - $140,000 per year. The successful candidate may be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive compensation award and participation in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which may include a discretionary bonus component.
