Associate, Practice Development
Position Summary
The Associate, Practice Development supports DMA’s business development efforts by researching target companies, identifying property tax opportunities, generating leads, and helping schedule and prepare prospective client meetings. This role includes a 6–12 month apprenticeship to learn DMA’s services, tools, and sales methodology, with a growth path toward Manager, Practice Development based on performance.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Research companies and markets to identify prospective property tax opportunities.
- Build prospect lists; support outbound email, phone, and social campaigns to secure meetings.
- Aid in compiling and organizing assessment data to help qualify opportunities.
- Prepare call plans, meeting materials, and follow-ups to create a positive first impression of DMA.
- Maintain accurate prospect notes and activities in the CRM (Salesforce or HubSpot).
- Collaborate with sales and service teams to support proposals, meeting coordination, and next steps.
- Meet monthly activity goals and provide status updates to the Manager/Director.
Education And Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 0–2 years of professional experience (internships or sales support experience preferred)
- Strong interest in a client-facing business development career
- Clear, persuasive verbal and written communication; proactive follow-up
- Excellent organization and attention to detail
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Teams; basic Excel)
- Experience with CRM systems (Salesforce or HubSpot) preferred; willing to learn
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without the need for employment-based visa sponsorship now or in the future
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Work Schedule: Regular, 40 hours/week
- Travel: Less than 10%
- Prolonged periods of sitting and computer use
- Frequent repetitive motions with hands
