Associate Portfolio Manager (Equity)

About the role

Portfolio Management is responsible for the daily oversight and management of Dimensional’s funds and implements our investment philosophy across all investment solutions. The team collaborates closely with departments including Trading, Research, Technology, Legal, Compliance, Operations, and the Global Client Group to ensure a superior investment experience for clients. As an Associate Portfolio Manager, you will cover all aspects of managing ETFs and other portfolios, and discuss our investment thesis and portfolios with a wide range of clients.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of ETFs and other portfolios, including issuing buy and sell instructions in global markets, creating ETF Create and Redeem baskets, trading foreign currency, electing on corporate actions, and evaluating security eligibility.
• Monitor ETF characteristics and maintain portfolio structure using the firm’s process-driven approach, identifying buy and sell candidates systematically and partnering with global trading teams to implement decisions.
• Partner with Capital Markets to enhance ETF market quality and efficiently manage flows.
• Provide verbal and written explanations of Dimensional funds, performance, process, and other investment-related issues to internal teams, existing clients, and prospective clients.
• Challenge current thinking and seek new opportunities to evolve Dimensional’s investment offerings.
• Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Consultant, and Client Services teams to respond effectively to clients’ investment needs.
• Lead project work focused on improving the efficiency of the investment process.

Requirements

• Strong philosophical alignment with Dimensional’s investment strategy.
• Background in finance and financial theory.
• Experience in financial markets via asset management, broker-dealers, or financial institutions.
• Understanding of the competitive landscape in equity ETFs and mutual funds.
• Experience in the ETF industry (a plus).
• Excellent quantitative problem-solving and analytic skills.
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• High attention to detail; project management experience (a plus).
• Strong time-management skills.
