Associate Phlebotomist-PRN (Fort Smith, AR)
Summary of Job Duties
The Phlebotomist supports all sections of the Clinical Outpatient Laboratory through proper phlebotomy techniques as well as proper specimen accessioning, processing, and related activities. Use of correct blood collection tubes, ordering correct tests from requisitions, matching identifiers to information on requisition and labels, obtaining blood from patients using proper phlebotomy techniques for clinical or medical testing, transfusions, donation, or research, resolving specimen and patient problems as they arise, and following UAMS Department of Pathology Policies and Procedures for blood collection.
Qualifications
- High School, GED, or formal educational equivalent required.
- One (1) year of laboratory experience.
- Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Proficient in following proper specimen collection procedures.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate specimen labeling and documentation.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and laboratory procedures.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- One (1) year of experience working in a clinical laboratory or as a medical assistant.
- CPR, CAN, PBT, MLA, or CPT Certification.
- National Phlebotomy Certification (ex. ASCP, AMT, etc).

Salary Information
$19.00 per hour (20 hours per week)
