About the role
Austin Regional Clinic seeks a dedicated individual to join our team as a Phlebotomist. We are seeking candidates who can collect blood specimens from patients of all ages, process laboratory orders and specimens, and maintain compliance and confidentiality.
Responsibilities
- Collects laboratory specimens from patients of all ages, including patients with infectious diseases.
- Processes laboratory orders and specimens according to protocol.
- Demonstrates appropriate telephone etiquette.
- Utilizes computer information systems.
- Adheres to organization and governmental standards, rules and regulations.
- Promotes professional customer service.
- Adheres to all company policies, including but not limited to, OSHA, HIPAA, compliance and Code of Conduct.
- Regular and dependable attendance.
- Works holiday shift(s) as required by Company policy.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent. Phlebotomy class preferred.
- Experience: Completion of phlebotomy class or at least one year of phlebotomy experience required.
- Certification: Phlebotomy certification preferred.
Skills
- Knowledge of/familiarity with laboratory environment.
- Knowledge of/familiarity with medical terminology.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal & problem solving skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Ability to engage others, listen and adapt response to meet others’ needs.

- Excellent computer and keyboarding skills, including familiarity with Windows.
