About the role

Austin Regional Clinic seeks a dedicated individual to join our team as a Phlebotomist. We are seeking candidates who can collect blood specimens from patients of all ages, process laboratory orders and specimens, and maintain compliance and confidentiality.

Responsibilities

  • Collects laboratory specimens from patients of all ages, including patients with infectious diseases.
  • Processes laboratory orders and specimens according to protocol.
  • Demonstrates appropriate telephone etiquette.
  • Utilizes computer information systems.
  • Adheres to organization and governmental standards, rules and regulations.
  • Promotes professional customer service.
  • Adheres to all company policies, including but not limited to, OSHA, HIPAA, compliance and Code of Conduct.
  • Regular and dependable attendance.
  • Works holiday shift(s) as required by Company policy.

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent. Phlebotomy class preferred.
  • Experience: Completion of phlebotomy class or at least one year of phlebotomy experience required.
  • Certification: Phlebotomy certification preferred.

Skills

  • Knowledge of/familiarity with laboratory environment.
  • Knowledge of/familiarity with medical terminology.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal & problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to engage others, listen and adapt response to meet others’ needs.
  • Ability to align own actions with those of other team members committed to common goals.
  • Excellent computer and keyboarding skills, including familiarity with Windows.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Ability to perform job duties in a professional manner at all times.
  • Ability to understand, recall, and communicate, factual information.
  • Ability to understand, recall, and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information.
  • Ability to organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology.
  • Ability to apply common sense in performing job.

Work Schedule

PRN (Days, Evenings, Weekends)
