Associate Pastor of Family & Worship

About the role

Tilly Swamp Baptist Church in Conway, SC is seeking a passionate, energetic, and spiritually mature Associate Pastor of Family & Worship to join our ministry team. We are looking for a man who loves Jesus, has a heart for reaching the next generation, and is gifted in leading engaging, Christ‑centered worship.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all children’s and student ministries (infant–12th grade).
• Provide hands‑on leadership for students (6th–12th grade) on Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings.
• Oversee and support Children’s Ministry leadership (infant–5th grade).
• Build meaningful relationships with students, parents, and families.
• Recruit, train, and develop teen and adult ministry leaders.
• Connect with local schools and the community through intentional outreach and relationship building.
• Develop engaging, biblically sound discipleship opportunities.
• Lead Sunday morning worship, including our praise band and choir.
• Help transition our current blended worship service toward a dynamic, fully contemporary worship experience that engages youth, young adults, and families.
• Strong vocal ability preferred, confident stage presence, and the ability to lead energetic, authentic, and theologically sound worship.
• Recruit, develop, and equip musicians, vocalists, and worship team members.
• Oversee music, sound, lighting, and media ministries, including volunteer scheduling and training.
• Instrumental ability is helpful but not required.

Qualifications

• A clear calling to pastoral ministry and a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
• Strong commitment to the authority and proclamation of God’s Word.
• A passion for evangelism, discipleship, and reaching families.
• Ability to effectively lead two ministry areas through team building, delegation, and leadership development.
• Ability to fill the pulpit when needed for the Senior Pastor.
• Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Agreement with and commitment to the Baptist Faith and Message of the Southern Baptist Convention.
• Previous ministry experience and theological education preferred.
