About the role
The ideal candidate is analytically strong, detail-oriented, and motivated to build a career in affordable housing finance with exposure to the full life cycle of originations and closings.
Key Responsibilities
- Support originations team in sourcing, underwriting, and execution of affordable multifamily loan transactions.
- Complete financial modeling and credit analysis for multifamily assets, including review of Loan-to-Value (LTV), Debt Service Coverage Ratio (DSCR), sources and uses, and cash flow projections.
- Prepare and maintain underwriting materials, internal credit memos, and investment committee packages.
- Prepare marketing and investor materials related to tax-exempt bond and LIHTC transactions.
- Cook up due diligence materials and support the closing process for bond and loan transactions.
- Lead group calls to ensure loan closing deadlines are met.
- Track transaction pipelines, maintain internal databases, and support reporting requirements.
- Review legal documentation to ensure alignment with investor requirements and interests.
- Conduct market research on affordable housing trends, capital markets, and comparable transactions.
- Travel nationally to attend industry conferences, participate in networking opportunities, and visit project properties.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including capital markets, credit, legal, and servicing, as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Real Estate.
- Strong interest in affordable housing, multifamily finance, and real estate credit.
- Solid analytical and quantitative skills with high attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to quickly identify and deliver answers to ad hoc questions from clients.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; experience with financial models preferred.
