Associate or Senior Associate Credit Investing

About the role

Affinius Capital is seeking an Associate -or- Sr. Associate to join its Credit Investing team. The Credit platform is responsible for the origination, underwriting, execution, and asset management of commercial real estate debt and preferred equity investments secured by development, transitional, and stabilized properties across major U.S. markets.

This professional will be a core member of the investment team and will play a critical role across the full life cycle of transactions, including sourcing support, underwriting, diligence, structuring, closing, and ongoing portfolio management.

Responsibilities

• Support the origination process for new investments, including market research, deal sourcing, and due diligence
• Underwrite and analyze potential investments, preparing comprehensive underwriting reports and presentations
• Conduct due diligence on potential investments, working closely with legal, financial, and other internal teams
• Develop and execute structured financing strategies, negotiating terms with lenders and other parties
• Manage the post-closing phase of investments, including monitoring performance, managing relationships with borrowers, and implementing improvements where necessary
• Collaborate with senior leadership, sponsors, intermediaries, and third-party advisors to ensure successful transaction execution and ongoing portfolio management

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Real Estate, or a related field
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in commercial real estate finance, investment banking, or a similar field
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
• Experience with real estate valuation models and financial analysis tools is a plus
