About the role
The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the Division of Neonatology & Newborn Services in the Department of Pediatrics at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for an Associate or Full Professor position in the tenure track. Expertise is required in the specific area of basic or translational perinatal research. The successful candidate will serve as the Director of a newly formed Perinatal Research Center (PRC).
Responsibilities
- Serve as the Director of a newly formed Perinatal Research Center (PRC).
- Engage, lead, and energize the scientific community across the CHOP Research Institute to build new programs and collaborations at CHOP and the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania.
- Advance their own research program and develop a world-class investigative group committed to the mission of the Perinatal Research Center.
- Address improvement of neonatal outcomes, health care delivery, and health inequities.
Requirements
Applicants must have an M.D. and/or Ph.D degree. Rank will be commensurate with experience.
Qualifications
Expertise is required in the specific area of basic or translational perinatal research.
Skills
Within the center, investigators from different fields will participate in collaborative multidisciplinary research with the goal of improving outcomes associated with perinatal/neonatal diseases and to understand the fundamentals of developmental biology.
