Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will conduct their independent research program and attain independent research funding. They will serve as the Core Leader for the ADRC Imaging Core at Northwestern University and lead the Imaging Core team to meet and accomplish the aims of the ADRC P30. This includes supporting imaging needs of the research projects at the MCCNAD.

Requirements

The successful candidate will possess a PhD, MD, or equivalent degree and have an established record of research productivity and independent grant funding in neuroimaging related to aging and/or dementia. They should demonstrate an interest in developing strong, productive interactions with faculty colleagues, contributing to the intellectual diversity of the MCCNAD, and working with and mentoring a varied group of trainees.

Qualifications

The candidate should have an active research program that synergizes with the mission of the MCCNAD, which focuses on the care of patients with memory loss, dementia, and other cognitive/behavioral disorders of aging, understanding mechanisms of cognition, brain aging, and the pathobiology of dementia, and the development of more effective treatments for dementia.

Skills

Qualified candidates will possess skills in neuroimaging research, particularly in magnetic resonance imaging and/or positron emission tomography, and have experience in securing independent research funding.

The department offers access to state-of-the-art equipment, including two 3T Siemens Prisma MR scanners, one 3 PET/CT scanner, and one PET/MR scanner, along with a variety of commercial radiopharmaceutical suppliers in the Chicago area.

Pay

The salary range for this position is competitive and commensurate with experience.
