Associate or Full Professor (HS Clin, Clin X, In-Res) Division Director of Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility

About the role

The Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Sciences within the School of Medicine at UC San Diego is seeking an accomplished physician-scientist and visionary leader to serve as the Division Director of Reproductive Endocrinology & Infertility (REI).

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic vision, foster interdisciplinary collaboration, and support the continued growth and national prominence of the division.
• Serve as a key clinical and administrative leader within the department, championing excellence across the tripartite mission of patient care, research, and education.
• Champion excellence in clinical care, research, and education, guiding the continued expansion and innovation of the in vitro fertilization and fertility preservation programs.
• Partner with nationally recognized faculty across UC San Diego Health and the broader university community.
• Leverage unique connections within Southern California's thriving biotechnology and life sciences ecosystem.
• Recruit, mentor, and develop the next generation of academic leaders and physician-scientists.
• Advocate for strategic investments in faculty development, clinical growth, research infrastructure, and program expansion.

Requirements

• MD, DO, or equivalent degree.
• Board certified in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (REI).
• Clinical practice experience across the full spectrum of REI care.
• At least five years of clinical experience in REI.
• Strong publication record, demonstrated by at least 40 peer-reviewed publications in relevant scientific or clinical journals.
• Five years of leadership experience and five years of experience within an academic medical center.
• Current California medical license or equivalent certification/permit as determined by the Medical Board of California.

Qualifications

• Basic qualifications (required at time of application): MD, DO, or equivalent degree; board certified in REI; clinical practice experience across the full spectrum of REI care; at least five years of clinical experience in REI; strong publication record; five years of leadership experience and five years of experience within an academic medical center; current California medical license or equivalent certification/permit as determined by the Medical Board of California.
• Preferred qualifications: record of securing extramural research funding; experience building collaborative research programs and mentoring faculty; experience driving programmatic growth and fostering innovation within an academic health system.
