About the Role

Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition in the Department of Pediatrics at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seek candidates for several Associate or Full Professor positions in either the non-tenure clinician educator track or the tenure track.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching medical students, residents and fellows, participating in family education days
  • Providing outstanding outpatient, inpatient and procedural care at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and/or its satellites
  • Assisting with augmenting basic, translational and/or clinical research initiatives in liver disease, motility, bile duct development, gastrointestinal allergies, nutrition, inflammatory bowel disease, and microbiome research

Requirements

  • M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree
  • Board certified in Pediatrics and/or Gastroenterology
  • Nationally recognized expert in the field
  • For Full Professor on the Tenure track: must be internationally recognized expert in the field

Qualifications

  • Expertise in education, research and clinical care
  • Reputation as an excellent clinician
  • Clinician Educators: often involved in collaborative, can be independent research, that results in new discoveries/knowledge or extend/advances understanding of knowledge ultimately important to human health/disease
  • Tenure track faculty: most often involved in independent or innovative collaborative research that results in new discoveries/knowledge or extend/advances understanding of knowledge ultimately important to human health/disease
