About the role
The Optometrist is a leader within the organization, delivering the brand promise and key results through people. You will ensure all patients receive the highest quality optometric care, integrate the brand story, and drive office performance metrics.
Responsibilities
- Convey a commitment to unsurpassed patient service by ensuring staff perform key service-process steps:
- Address all patients’ visual lifestyle needs
- Build lifelong patient relationships
- Explain each step of the eye exam
- Listen carefully to patient questions or concerns
- Provide a summary of overall eye health
- Conduct all services in accordance with protocol and accepted standard of care
- Ensure accurate diagnosis and appropriate recommendations on the initial visit
- Establish a positive doctor/patient relationship
- Communicate effectively with office and store associates for a seamless patient experience
- Provide on-the-job training and guidance to team members in areas including:
- Orientation
- Front desk/office procedures
- Pre-testing
- Phone skills
- Contact lens training
- Exam quality by other doctors
- Deliver clear, motivating, and constructive feedback to associates
- Confront problem performers directly and without delay
- Create a positive culture aligned with corporate values
- Encourage associate decision-making at the level closest to the patient
- Strive to exceed targets in:
- Overall patient satisfaction
- % Sales to plan
- Exam growth
- Other key performance indicators
- Maximize “One Voice” partnership through leadership in:

- Walk-in availability
- Maintain office appearance and a safe working environment

Requirements
- Doctor of Optometry degree
- Proven track record of delivering results through people
- Knowledge of current optometric theory and technology
- Comprehensive understanding of operations, processes, and business implications
- Strong communication and listening skills
- Problem-solving ability
- Organizational skills
Pay
$575–$630 per day. Pay is determined by factors including geography, experience, qualifications, skills, and local minimum wage requirements. A competitive bonus and/or commission plan may complement the total rewards package.
