L3Harris is seeking a motivated individual for an exciting opportunity to join the team as an IP Network Engineer supporting innovative network solutions for multiple programs and initiatives as the primary contractor.

About the role

As an IP Network Engineer, you will support the management and implementation of IP network solutions. You will work independently on projects from start to finish, including developing network designs based on user requirements, creating network diagrams using Visio, configuring network equipment, and ensuring full implementation follow-through and documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate technologies and designs in relation to the critical infrastructure and service needs for the FAA
  • Implement solutions that support the FAA’s NextGen visions and objectives
  • Serve as the escalation point from Tier 1 and Tier 2 Operations teams for problem resolution
  • Implement solutions that support customer visions and objectives
  • Participate in inter-program initiatives and discussions to resolve technical challenges
  • Create and maintain documentation and training for knowledge transfer
  • Evaluate technologies and designs for external customers’ critical infrastructure and service needs
  • Maintain operational excellence of network systems and components to exceed customer expectations
  • Define and implement best practices for network and capacity management
  • Identify areas of opportunity for automation and network optimization
  • Perform proof of concepts and service trials while documenting system integration
  • Travel as required for requirement meetings and system integration planning

Requirements

  • Pursuing or recently completed (within the last 12 months) a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology/Computer Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering with a network focus, or Computer Science with a Communications/Network Focus

Schedule

9/80: Employees work 9 out of every 14 days – totaling 80 hours worked, and have every other Friday off.

This position may require the ability to obtain a security clearance. Security clearances may only be granted to U.S. citizens.
