About the role

Entry-level position to learn basic company processes, alloys, and customers. Develop skills to provide a range of technical services to internal and external customers, supporting Company and division goals.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate understanding of how to properly make disposition of non-conforming and off-standard material.
  • Support team efforts with supervision.
  • Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.
  • Apply knowledge of metallurgical principles, standards, methods, and practices.
  • Develop ability to be accountable for subsets of project deliverables.
  • Gain knowledge of metallurgical and production equipment, statistical methods, Six Sigma, and/or BPI practices.
  • Organize and prioritize tasks, make appropriate decisions, and travel as needed.
  • Function as an individual contributor with direct supervision and provide guidance to peers and manager on projects and opportunities with moderate assistance.
  • Assist others in providing guidance and support to external customers on key projects and opportunities.
  • Support and participate in team efforts, including assisting internal customers.
  • Develop ability to lead small projects and direct work.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in metallurgical engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
  • 0-2 years of relevant experience.
  • Fundamental knowledge of metallurgical principles, standards, methods, and practices.
  • Developing ability to use statistical methods and tools.
  • Functional verbal and written communication skills.
