About the role
Entry-level position to learn basic company processes, alloys, and customers. Develop skills which will enable provision of a range of technical services to internal and external customers supporting the attainment of Company and division goals.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrate understanding of how to properly make disposition of non-conforming and off-standard material.
- Support team efforts with supervision.
- Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.
- Apply knowledge of metallurgical principles, standards, methods, and practices.
- Develop ability to be accountable for subsets of project deliverables.
- Assist in providing guidance and support to external customers on key projects and opportunities.
- Support and participate in team efforts.
- Assist internal customers.
- Develop ability to lead small projects and direct work.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in metallurgical engineering, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
- 0-2 years of relevant experience.
- Fundamental knowledge of metallurgical principles, standards, methods, and practices.
- Developing knowledge of metallurgical and production equipment, statistical methods, Six Sigma, and/or BPI practices.
- Ability to organize and prioritize tasks, make appropriate decisions, and travel as needed.
- Ability to learn statistical methods and tools.
- Function as an individual contributor with direct supervision and provide guidance to peers and manager with moderate assistance.
- Demonstrate functional verbal and written communication skills.
