Associate Medical Laboratory Scientist

About the role

The Medical Laboratory Scientist is responsible for the accurate and timely reporting of high complexity laboratory test results with minimal supervision. MT/MLS personnel are capable of performing pre-analytical, analytical and post-analytical duties including specimen evaluation, data analysis, and instrument maintenance and problem resolution. They often work with acute-care and outpatient caregivers, along with other Laboratory Services staff in performing their duties.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical, Physical, Biological, or Clinical Laboratory Sciences
• National Medical Technologist - American Society for Clinical Pathology within 6 months (180 days) of hire, or
• National Medical Technologist - American Medical Technologists within 6 months (180 days) of hire, or
• National Medical Technologist - American Association of Bioanalysts within 6 months (180 days) of hire, or
• National Medical Laboratory Scientist - American Society for Clinical Pathology within 6 months (180 days) of hire, or
• National Clinical Laboratory Scientist - American Society for Clinical Pathology within 6 months (180 days) of hire, or
• National Laboratory Tech - United States Government within 6 months (180 days) of hire

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Science from a NAACLS accredited MLS program
• 1 year experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Science from a NAACLS accredited MLS program

Pay

The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
