ASSOCIATE MEDICAL DIRECTOR - Family Health Center of Harlem

About the Role

Responsible for the overall clinical management of the assigned practice and program, including direct supervision of all providers (Medical), and monitoring the practice and on-site programs to meet the organization’s productivity goals, quality performance measures, regulatory compliance, and research initiatives. Maintains a clinical practice at the assigned site. Allocation of administrative and clinical time depends on the size and range of programs at the site.

Responsibilities

• Direct supervision of all providers assigned to this practice as their primary site.
• Performs bi-annual evaluations of Specialist providers or other providers as assigned by the Medical Director, including annual competency evaluations.
• Participates in monthly leadership management meetings.
• Monitors monthly (as assigned by the Medical Director):
  • Provider Productivity
  • Provider Quality Performance (Peer Review and Clinical Registries)
  • Provider Evaluation at practice sites
  • Regulatory Compliance of the practice sites (Joint Commission, NCQA)
• Assists in the supervision of clinical performance or impact of any research programs operating at these sites when appropriate.
• Collaborates with Nursing, Social Work, and Administrative managers of the practice in:
  • Hiring and evaluation of practice staff
  • Reviewing all patient complaints and incidents
  • Assisting in the Environment of Care (EOC) rounds of the practice
• Communicates with supervising regional medical directors regarding needs or requests of providers or practice staff.
• Attends the Clinical Director’s Group (CDG) meetings.
• Provides compassionate, appropriate, and effective patient care.
• Available to patients and staff.
• Uses scientific evidence and methods to investigate, evaluate, and improve patient care.
• Demonstrates acceptable use of the organization’s best practice alerts, quality improvement initiatives, core measures compliance, and use of Evidence-Based Medicine (EBM).

Qualifications

• Demonstrates effective supervisory skills of clinicians.
• Demonstrates superior clinical skills.
• Demonstrates effective interpersonal, communication, organizational, and conflict management skills.
• Demonstrates basic computer skills.
• Demonstrates ability to organize care/activities of multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Previous clinical supervisory experience preferred.
• NY State Medical License.
• Board admissible to respective specialty board.
• Current BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) certification.
• Current DEA Certificate.
