About the Role

The Associate Field Service Engineer will provide extensive service to commonly encountered products and problems without assistance. This intermediate-level position requires broad technical knowledge with regular application of advanced engineering principles, practices, and techniques. Based in Holliston, MA, you will support customers in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Maine, Connecticut, New Hampshire, and Vermont with on-site repair, troubleshooting, and maintenance services for CNCs and related system peripheral equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide maintenance and troubleshooting for CNCs, servo, spindle drive, and motor products.
  • Investigate customer complaints and perform analysis to determine causes.
  • Operate with consistent support from a Supervisor/Manager.
  • Actively participate in on-the-job training and classroom instruction.
  • Promote the company goal of exceeding customer expectations while learning customer interaction.
  • Report quality problems to the appropriate manager/supervisor.
  • Control inventory as assigned.
  • Learn service operations, procedures, and policies, including timely and accurate submission of required paperwork.
  • Maintain all company-provided equipment, including tools.
  • Travel as required within company-provided directions and guidelines, including overnight travel (2-3 nights per month).li>
  • Travel by airplane for training or meetings as needed.
  • Work under detailed instructions from a Supervisor/Manager to ensure proper assignment matching.
  • Discuss diagnosis, repair, and parts needs with a Supervisor/Manager.
  • Frequently collaborate with a more senior-level Field Service Engineer.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Electronics or Mechatronics, Technical Trade School graduate, and/or relevant work experience in a related field preferred.
  • Two years of relevant experience in a technical customer support or field service environment preferred.
  • Ability to transport equipment and parts (weighing up to 75 pounds) to customer locations.
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to make preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives.
  • Capacity to learn and absorb new ideas quickly to keep current with technological and methodological changes.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with diagnostic tools.
  • Flexibility to travel 80% - 90% to customer sites.
  • Valid driver’s license or ability to obtain one.
  • Ability to drive throughout the service area for business as required.
  • Legal ability to rent and operate a vehicle in the United States and Canada for business travel.

Pay

The pay range for this position is $51,917 - $83,283 per year, including bonuses and profit sharing. Compensation will be determined based on geographic location, educational attainment, and level of experience.
