About The Role We’re building a brand-new, US-based, fully remote game studio developing new slot games and we’re looking for an Associate Mathematician to help develop the math models that power our games. In this role, you’ll work with an experienced Game Designer to create new slot game math models with high-performing mechanics, ensuring they are accurate, fair, and engaging. What You’ll Be Doing Define the mathematical profile of the game, including the game’s balance, volatility, and player experienceCreate and maintain the game’s PAR sheets and other math documentation, using both Excel and simulationsWork closely with the Game Designer, prototyping team, and engineering team to ensure the math is implemented accurately and follows the overall game designPlaytest and iterate on your game’s math and mechanics with an eye toward creating the best player experience possibleCollaborate with other mathematicians to provide gameplay feedback and recommendations for improvement on each other’s gamesRegularly play competitors’ games in the iGaming and land-based spaces to stay abreast of industry trends and new mechanics What We Ask Of You Strong interest in casino games, especially slots, in iGaming and land-based marketsExperience developing math models for real-money slot games is a plusDegree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experienceExpertise using Excel to model probabilities and perform data analysisFamiliarity programming in C++, C#, or PythonExcellent written communication skills, especially the ability to clearly communicate complex and technical concepts to stakeholders across the globePassion for games and learning industry trends, emerging game mechanics, and player expectationsYou should:Be comfortable moving between multiple projects while maintaining a high attention to detailBring strong organization and structure to a fast-moving environmentHave a passion for problem solving in complex systemsObsess over detail and refinementProvide, accept, and act on feedback constructively
