Overview
The Associate Material Handler supports daily warehouse and materials management operations to ensure accurate, compliant, and timely flow of goods. This role is responsible for kanban restocking, receiving, shipping, and inventory putaway while maintaining safety, quality, and inventory accuracy standards. The position is physical and fast-paced, requiring attention to detail and effective communication.
Key Responsibilities
- Kanban Restocking: Replenish production and warehouse kanban locations per established min/max levels; perform timely card scans/transactions and escalate stock-out risks.
- Receiving: Unload deliveries; verify quantities and condition against purchase orders; inspect and label materials; complete system receipts and route materials to quarantine, stocking, or point-of-use as required.
- Shipping: Pick, pack, stage, and ship outbound orders; generate and affix shipping documentation.
- Inventory Putaway: Execute directed putaway and bin transfers; confirm locations in the system; maintain location accuracy and 5S organization.
- Inventory Control: Perform cycle counts and reconciliation.
- Compliance & Documentation: Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety guidelines; complete accurate and legible records and system transactions; support audits as needed.
- Equipment & Safety: Operate pallet jacks, forklifts, and related material handling equipment safely; maintain a clean and organized work area; adhere to EHS requirements and report hazards.
Qualifications
- Required Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to regularly lift and move up to 50 lbs; stand, walk, bend, and reach throughout the shift; work in warehouse environments with varying temperatures.
- Skills: Basic computer literacy; ability to read and follow SOPs, work instructions, and packing lists; strong attention to detail and time management.
- Preferred GxP Experience: Familiarity with GxP or regulated environments and good documentation practices.
- Systems: Experience with SAP or similar ERP/WMS for receiving, putaway, and shipping transactions.
- Equipment: Current or prior forklift certification and experience operating powered industrial trucks.
- Additional: Experience with kanban systems, cycle counting, and carrier systems (e.g., parcel and LTL).
Work Schedule and Environment
Full-time, onsite warehouse role with potential for overtime or shift work based on operational needs. Exposure to warehouse conditions, including forklifts and material handling equipment; PPE use as required.
