Associate Manager, Transportation Planning
Job Description
The Associate Manager, Transportation Planning is responsible for leading a team of transportation planners, providing guidance, training, and support as needed. You will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the transportation planning team, ensuring timely deliveries, and implementing strategies to enhance overall efficiency. They will foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and continuous improvement.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop and implement effective transportation plans to optimize routes, reduce costs, and improve overall efficiency.
- Cook with internal departments to ensure accurate and timely transportation of goods.
- Create and manage transportation schedules, considering factors such as delivery deadlines, product specifications, and transportation capacity.
- Cook closely with drivers, carriers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless execution of transportation plans.
- Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the efficiency and effectiveness of transportation operations.
- Analyze performance data to identify trends, make recommendations for improvements, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Ensure compliance with transportation laws, regulations, and safety standards.
- Stay informed about industry trends and changes in transportation regulations to adapt processes accordingly.
- Proactively identify and address transportation-related challenges, working collaboratively with the team to find solutions and prevent future issues.
- Communicate regularly with internal teams, suppliers, and customers to provide updates on transportation activities and address any issues or concerns.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in transportation planning or a related field.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
- Familiarity with transportation management systems (TMS) and related software.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Knowledge of transportation regulations and compliance.
Education & Experience
- Preferred Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university preferred.
- Computer proficiency is required in the following: Windows-based software applications (Word, Excel, and Access), Outlook, Desktop Publishing, and Power Point.
- SAP and Envision experience preferred.
- 5+ years job related experience preferred.
- Production and Lean Manufacturing experience preferred.
Compensation And Benefits
The target base salary range for this full-time, salaried position is between $83,800-$115,200. Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. Total pay may include other forms of compensation. In addition, we offer competitive health, dental, 401k and wellness benefits beginning on the first day of employment.
