About the role

As an Associate Manager of Production Control, you will design and oversee material handling functions at Gigafactory New York. You will lead a team of Supervisors with a KPI-driven approach to meet daily operational objectives. This role involves cross-functional collaboration with Manufacturing, NPI, Maintenance, and various supply and logistics organizations to solve problems, drive continuous improvement, and achieve production targets. You will set clear expectations, develop Supervisors, and deliver consistent results in Safety, People, and Accuracy while hitting operational and financial targets for your span of control.

Responsibilities

  • Design and oversee material handling for assigned warehouse(s) and logistics areas, ensuring standards are clear, consistent, and followed.
  • Execute operational plans aligned with GFNY production priorities and department goals, converting them into daily/weekly priorities and resource alignment.
  • Own delivery in your span of control, providing timely input on risks, constraints, and improvements.
  • Lead Supervisors with a KPI-driven approach: set clear goals, conduct regular performance reviews, and provide coaching.
  • Drive issues to closure through root cause analysis, ensuring fixes are permanent and verified.
  • Partner cross-functionally to improve processes, clear production bottlenecks, and increase productivity.
  • Escalate repeat, systemic, or high-impact blockers with data and proposed solutions.
  • Lead a proactive safety culture, stopping unsafe work and closing hazards without compromising safety for speed or output.
  • Hire, coach, and performance-manage Supervisors and teams to high standards with clear expectations and regular feedback.
  • Own execution quality to ensure material and transactions are accurate (right item, right place, right quantity).
  • Enforce process discipline and partner with Inventory Control and Process Engineering on recurring errors.
  • Own operational and financial KPI performance for assigned areas (e.g., labor efficiency, trailer/overflow, scrap, transaction accuracy).
  • Run a consistent leadership rhythm: floor presence, standards reinforcement, Supervisor one-on-ones, and structured shift handoffs.

Requirements

  • 5-7+ years in material handling, logistics, or supply chain operations in a manufacturing environment, including multi-shift leadership of Supervisors.
  • Proven ability to deliver safety, quality/accuracy, and cost/labor results in your span of control.
  • Experience fostering and developing a strong team of material handling personnel and leaders.
  • Flexibility to work flexible shifts, including nights, as production needs change.
  • Ability to meet operational and financial targets and manage variances with root cause analysis and corrective action.
  • Strong root cause and continuous improvement mindset; effective under production pressure.
  • Fluent with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project) and operational data/dashboards.
  • Strong understanding of warehouse operations, including inbound/outbound, material flow, inventory discipline, and dock management.
  • Proven safety leadership in powered-equipment warehouse or manufacturing logistics environments.
  • Experience executing operational plans and improving operational quality through permanent countermeasures.
  • Track record sustaining disciplined operations (visual standards, process adherence, audits).

Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, Business, or equivalent practical experience preferred. Lean or continuous improvement experience is a plus.
