About the role

L3Harris is seeking an Associate Manager, Materials and Process Engineering (Chemistry Lab) to lead, direct, and review the work of engineers and technicians in a laboratory setting. This role requires knowledge of leading and managing projects, processes, and employees.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise, direct, and review the work of Engineers and Technicians.
  • Provide input on hiring, firing, promotion, and compensation decisions.
  • Establish goals and objectives.
  • Improve processes to enhance performance and efficiency of the work area.
  • Work with lab instrumentation such as FTIR, Instrons, DSC, Microtracs, titrators, & HPLC.
  • Sample and test raw materials, propellants, explosives, and other materials.
  • Prepare and collect raw test data.
  • Clean, assemble and dismantle test hardware, equipment, and apparatus.
  • Perform laboratory support work such as instrument set-up, calibration, inventory, and inspections.
  • Reviews submitted test data for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
  • Approve test reports for distribution.
  • Review and submit lab documentation (test and calibration procedures).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 6 years minimum of prior related chemistry lab experience. Graduate Degree with 4 years minimum of prior related chemistry lab experience. In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 10 years of prior related chemistry lab experience.
  • Knowledge of testing explosives and energetic materials.

Qualifications
