About the role
L3Harris is seeking an Associate Manager, Materials and Process Engineering (Chemistry Lab) to lead, direct, and review the work of engineers and technicians in a laboratory setting. This role requires knowledge of leading and managing projects, processes, and employees.
Responsibilities
- Supervise, direct, and review the work of Engineers and Technicians.
- Provide input on hiring, firing, promotion, and compensation decisions.
- Establish goals and objectives.
- Improve processes to enhance performance and efficiency of the work area.
- Work with lab instrumentation such as FTIR, Instrons, DSC, Microtracs, titrators, & HPLC.
- Sample and test raw materials, propellants, explosives, and other materials.
- Prepare and collect raw test data.
- Clean, assemble and dismantle test hardware, equipment, and apparatus.
- Perform laboratory support work such as instrument set-up, calibration, inventory, and inspections.
- Reviews submitted test data for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
- Approve test reports for distribution.
- Review and submit lab documentation (test and calibration procedures).
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree with 6 years minimum of prior related chemistry lab experience. Graduate Degree with 4 years minimum of prior related chemistry lab experience. In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 10 years of prior related chemistry lab experience.
- Knowledge of testing explosives and energetic materials.
