Associate Maintenance Technician

A Brief Summary Of This Position

  • Supports the maintenance team by assisting with the installation, repair, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance of manufacturing equipment, facilities, and systems.
  • Performs a variety of maintenance-related tasks while learning maintenance processes and ensuring equipment and facilities remain safe, functional, and operational to support production requirements.

Essential Functions

  • Reports to the Maintenance Supervisor and has no direct reports.
  • Assist maintenance technicians with repairs, installations, and preventive maintenance activities on manufacturing equipment and facility systems.
  • Perform basic mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic maintenance tasks under the direction of skilled maintenance personnel.
  • Assist with troubleshooting equipment issues and identifying potential causes of equipment failures.
  • Support preventive maintenance programs by performing inspections, cleaning, lubrication, and routine maintenance activities.
  • Assist with facility maintenance activities including lighting, plumbing, painting, grounds maintenance, and general building repairs.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment in a safe and effective manner.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe maintenance shop and work environment.
  • Assist with moving, assembling, and installing machinery, equipment, and production tooling.
  • Respond to maintenance service requests and support production needs as directed.
  • Follow all safety procedures, lockout/tagout requirements, and company policies.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete required documentation.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and participate in efforts to improve equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
  • Other duties/responsibilities as required and/or assigned.

Required Qualifications of Every Candidate

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • One (1) year of experience in manufacturing, maintenance, construction, mechanical repair, or a related field preferred.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to safely use hand and power tools.
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions, safety procedures, and maintenance documentation.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and perform physical work throughout the shift.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to complete required maintenance records.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with employees at all levels.

Required Qualifications for Highly Qualified Candidates

  • Associate degree, technical certification, or vocational training in Industrial Maintenance, Mechatronics, Electrical Technology, or a related field.
  • Two (2) or more years of experience supporting maintenance operations in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance programs and maintenance best practices.
  • Experience operating forklifts, aerial lifts, or other industrial equipment.
  • Familiarity with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems).
  • Welding, fabrication, or machining experience.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and ability to identify opportunities for process improvement.
